Aquaculture Association of Southern Africa
The Association serves as an advocate for members with vested interests in marine species and service providers.
AASA Membership
We are always looking for eager members that share our common goal, To contribute towards the development of aquaculture in Southern Africa. We look forward to having YOU a part of our team.
AASA Membership is available in the following ways
- Institutional membership is for institutions such as Universities, Government Departments, nongovernmental organisations etc. and also allows for the logging of 5 people within the institution to AASA for information, materials and discounts.
- Student members include all students with a valid registration to a tertiary educational institution (student no. to be provided).
- Corporate membership is for all bona fide companies and will allow for these companies to log 5 employees of such companies as links to which AASA will circulate information, materials and for various discounts. For very small and emergent companies, individual membership will be more beneficial, but AASA requests that larger companies do not misuse this opportunity as AASA depends greatly on the corporate membership income. Corporates that want to link more than 5 employees or large commercial entities that want to provide AASA with additional support will be dealt with on a one to one basis.
- Small Scale Farmers are those individuals who produce less than 5 tons of product per annum (or 1000 ornamental fish).
- Non-Student and Professional Membership for individuals who wish to hold interest in aquaculture in South Africa.
